BEAUTYFRIEND MOBILE APP PRIVACY POLICY

 

BeautyFriend, LLC (“BeautyFriend” or “we” or “us”), is the owner of the BeautyFriend application (the “App”). We want to manage your privacy responsibly and transparently, so we have created this Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) to provide you with information regarding our policies, practices and procedures as they relate specifically to information we collect through the App. If after reading the Policy, you have additional questions or would like further information on this topic, please feel free to write to us at info@thebeautyfriend.com.

1. What Information Does the App Collect, and How is it Used? 

The App obtains the information you provide when you download the App to your device.  In order to purchase any of the services offered on BeautyFriend, you will need to first setup an account with us.  In registering for an account, you will be asked to provide certain information about yourself, including name, address, and mobile phone number and payment information. You will also be asked to create a user name and password, and you will use these credentials when you are accessing features and functionality that require authentication as a registered user of BeautyFriend. Additionally, in the case of the App’s integration with certain social media sites, you must be registered and signed in with Facebook, Twitter or Instagram as applicable.

The App may collect certain information automatically related to your use of the App and its functioning in order to improve the user experience and diagnose issues. We may use such technologies like cookies (small files stored by your browser), web beacons or unique device identifiers to anonymously identify your mobile device. Our systems are also designed to associate personal information with your activities, and we reserve the right to use such information for a variety of purposes, including marketing and advertising purposes. We might also track usage events in the app (e.g., "shared an experience via social media"), and such use may be linked to a particular mobile operating system, app version, and mobile device. We may retain such user-, device-, or network-specific information.

Should you decide to purchase a service, third parties provide the payment service. These third party payment processors will collect information from you in order to be able to process your purchase, including your name, address and relevant payment information, such as credit card number, security code and expiration date if paying by credit card. Since these third party payment processors will have access to the information you provide in order to make a payment transaction, we recommend that you closely review their respective privacy policies prior to making a transaction.


2. Does the Application Collect Precise, Real Time Location Information?

The App does collect usage data in real time, and may also collect precise information about the location of your mobile device either through geolocation or when you provide location information manually. We may use this information for a variety of purposes, including being able to provide you with a list of services that are in close proximity to your current location or providing you with information related to local product offerings. You may at any time opt-out from further allowing us to have access to your location data by disabling location services from your mobile device . 3. Do Third Parties See and/or Have Access to Information Obtained by the App?

We may be providing third parties with access to information obtained by the App. When we do share your information with third parties, we will share such information pursuant to the obligations described in this Policy.

  • with service providers who work on behalf of BeautyFriend;
  • with third-party advertisers or marketing partners;
  • if you make a payment, certain information with the payment processor providers;
  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;
  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect BeautyFriend rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or to respond to a government request;
  • if BeautyFriend is involved in any type of organizational change.

4. Opt-Out Rights.

There are multiple opt-out options for users of this App:

You can opt-out and stop all collection of information by the App by uninstalling, deleting or otherwise removing the App from your mobile device. Additionally, in regard to the App’s integration with email and certain social media sites, you can at anytime sign out of your email account, or with the social media sites – such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, respectively.  

You may at any time opt-out from further allowing us to have access to your location data by disabling location services on your device.

5. Data Retention Policy; Managing Your Information.

BeautyFriend will retain any user-provided data for as long as you use the App and for a reasonable time thereafter. If you would like to request that we delete your user-provided data that you have provided via the App, please contact BeautyFriend at info@thebeautyfriend.com and we will endeavor to respond to you within a reasonable timeframe.  Please note that some or all of your user-provided data may be required in order for the App to function properly, or we may be required to retain certain information pursuant to applicable law.

6. Children.

The App is not intended for use by children, and we do not knowingly or intentionally solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us information without their consent, he or she should contact us at info@thebeautyfriend.com to request that we delete such information. We will delete such information from our files within a reasonable amount of time from your request.

7. Security.

We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards intended to protect information we process and maintain. In the case of any third-party providers, we try to select providers who provide commercially reasonable security safeguards. The security systems in place are structured to deter and prevent hackers and others from accessing your information. Due to the nature of Internet communications and evolving technologies, however, we cannot provide, and disclaim any assurance, that such information and communications will remain free from loss, misuse, or alteration by human error or third parties who, despite our security measures efforts, may obtain unauthorized access. 

8.  Changes.

We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time, so please review it periodically. You can determine if the Policy has been revised since your last visit by referring to the "Policy Effective Date" listed below. By continuing to use the App after any such revision, your use constitutes your acceptance of such revised Policy. This Policy is not intended to and does not create any contractual or other legal right in or on behalf of any party.

9. Your Consent.

By using the App, you are consenting to our processing of your information and the collection of other information and data by the App, as further described in this Policy. You acknowledge that in regard to any third-party providers referenced in this Policy, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, we exercise no control over their policies, procedure or practices, and we specifically disclaim any representations, warranties or assurances thereof.  

We do not represent or warrant that the App, or any part thereof, are appropriate or available for use in any particular geographic location. If you choose to use the App, you do so on your own initiative and at your own risk, and are responsible for complying with all local laws, rules, and regulations applicable in your jurisdiction. We reserve the right to limit the App’s availability, in whole or in part, to any person, geographic area, or jurisdiction we choose, at any time and in our sole discretion. If you are using the App from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored or processed in the United States, where the App is hosted and where the database resides. The data protection and other laws of the United States and other countries might not be as comprehensive as those in your country, but please be assured that we take steps to protect your privacy. By using the App, you understand that your information may be transferred to those facilities and those third parties with whom we share it as described in this Policy.
